It's How We Handle What Happens Next

Whether you or from a small town or a large city this first post will relate, with all the commotion of Radiovangelist Harold Camping this past weekend it's important to know where to go next.

So many times we all get wrapped up in the moment with what is going on around us. This past weekend Harold Camping showed the nation that he could be wrong for a second time. More importantly he also confirmed scripture that " no one knows the day or hour these things will happen.. " (Matt. 24:36) Now that we have made it past May 21st with no rapture it is time to focus on the things to come. One of the top "Googled" words this weekend was "rapture". That tells me that there is a large percentage of people who at least care enough to wonder what rapture might mean. As the Christian body of believers there couldn't be an easier time for us to share the gospel. The proposed rapture was all over national television and everyone was talking about it, so why can't we seize this opportunity to spread the Good News of Jesus? With the 21st coming and going non-believers will begin to ridicule the faith, don't let them. While I believe Harold Camping had somewhat good intentions, he is just as much a false prophet as anyone else who preaches against the word of God. (1 John 4:1)

There a definitely difficult times coming in the future. The future of our Nation and even the future of my home church. What is important is how we come out on the other side. While circumstances sometimes look dark and grim we must remember to follow God's will and support our leaders. Most importantly we need to pray for our leaders, pray for their strength and pray for courage! The leaders are always the ones to take the fall. However, when doors close others open and that is what we must remember. The way we get through the hard times tells us who we are!

Remember to take time to say a prayer for your Pastor, your boss, and our Government.
